Cheap Holidays: Travel Saving Tips

Cheap Holidays: Travel Saving Tips

Finding a cheap holiday can be easy, but the fees and other costs could take that entire savings away.  If you are looking for some travel saving tips for a cheap holiday, then you have come to the right place.  We have tips on the flights, accommodations, and other costs you could incur below.

By comparing prices online you could potentially save a lot of money.  There are hundreds of bargains online and through online travel agents.  By looking at the items separately and as a package, you can determine what the most cost effective plan will be.  Often a package includes air, hotel, and car hire.  You can also get a package that includes activities such as tickets to a show, diving, or golfing fun.

Mobile phones: taking your mobile phone to another country can be extremely expensive.  Most of the mobile phone companies have roaming charges on the phone calls and internet use.  By understanding these charges before you leave you can save yourself a great deal of money.

Airport parking is another expense you might have to incur.  If you can’t get friends or family to drive you to the airport you will need to have a place to park.  By looking online in search of airport parking facilities you can save some of the expense.  Your other option is comparing public transportation.  If the underground, bus, or taxi is cheaper than airport parking then that could be the best option for you.  You can also save in airport parking by choosing an offsite location that will transport you to the airport.  You don’t want the car to be picked up at the departure gate and returned to the arrival area.  That is the most expensive parking option.

Car hire upgrades.  A lot of the car hire places will keep a small amount of economy cars in their fleet.  These cars are especially restricted during the week with business travellers.  To get the most out of a car you should book a smaller car.  In most cases the car hire company will have to give you a free upgrade.  Your other savings option is booking a car that is eco friendly.  A hybrid uses less petrol, therefore during your holiday you can save on the need for gas by reserving a hybrid model.

By following these holiday tips you should be able to save quite a bit on your next vacation.
