Cheap Holidays: Knowing Your Travel CostsTravelling can be a great adventure if you remember to have fun, but that can sometimes be hard when you are struggling to pay for the holiday. To help you afford your holiday a little better, we have been searching for some travel tips to offer you. One of the best travel tips we have found for a cheap holiday will be understanding your travel costs. Sure you can book a trip and find the cheapest flights, but will that really save you? Most of us plan for the airline flight, hotel, and possibly a car rental, but we forget about the rest of the travelling experience. It is important that you know what other charges you could incur before travelling. We have listed a few things to be concerned about. Food: this can be a very expensive part of your trip if you don’t plan correctly. Sure you want to try restaurants and you don’t want to worry about cooking, but planning ahead for where to eat is going to be the best thing you can do. Public transportation is another area you should consider. Renting a car can mean going anywhere in the city you are visiting, even the outlying country, but is the expense worth the trip? If you want to visit a national park while you are in a country, rent the car for 24 hours. This single day rental can save you a lot of money in the end because you will use public transportation the rest of the time. What are the fees you can expect to be charged? A hotel may not include the taxes when they give you your rate. Ask them what the tax is and make sure that everything is clear. By planning for incidentals you can make sure to be covered. You should also plan the cost of things for how much you are willing to spend on souvenirs. Souvenirs are a big thing to bring home to remember your trip. You don’t want to over spend on something and not get another item you really wanted. Plan on the places you are going to visit. Don’t just get into town and ask the concierge at the hotel for the hottest places to see. Plan ahead by looking at all the museums, parks, and other activities available. By doing this you can be sure to have the best plan for your travel costs.
