The Beauty Of Kos
Your holiday to Kos is going to be about exploring the beauty of the area. Many people visit Kos because it is a beautiful island that has ferry connections and its own airport. You will find some beautiful beaches in Kos. Besides the beaches, Kos has some incredible archaeological sites. Kos is known as the island for bike riding. You will find bike rental shops all over the island. You can rent a bike for an entire day and explore areas that are never seen from a car. There are many historical places you can visit in Kos. The Asklepion is an unusual historical place. This place is located on top of the hill and the view around the area of a hilltop is fantastic.
Kos is sort of like a miniature California. Since the earthquake in the early 1930's, it was rebuilt and now has many Italian architecture more so than Greek architecture. You will find many fast food restaurants and gift shops lining the streets. One place you need to see is the Archaeological Museum where they have exhibits from around Greece that display the history of the Roman and Hellenistic history. You will also see the statue of Hippocrates.
If you want to tree an amazing tree, you have to visit the Hippocrates plane tree. It is said that this tree is fifty-two feet around. It is the hugest thing one could ever see. They say that this tree was planted over two thousand years ago. However, it is justified that the tree is only seven hundred years old. The fountain around the tree is something that you might want to see in your own backyard. You will enjoy a day visiting this area. Then there is the resort area of Tingaki. It overlooks the island and there is bar for refreshments.
Holidays to Kos can include a visit to Ancient Agora and the Castle of the Knight of St John. There is so much to do in Kos that everyone finds something that they enjoy doing. The beaches, restaurants and nightclubs are especially nice to visit. The beaches and historical sites are just an added beauty. If you need a place to get away and enjoy a peaceful and relaxing time, Kos is where you want to go. There is so much to do and even enjoy talking to the locals for some interesting conversations.
