Plan To Visit Sitia On Your Holiday To Crete
Sitia is a beautiful place to visit. This is where many visitors go to when they plan their holiday to Crete. Sitia has many restaurants and little shops by the harbor that are perfect for sitting and watching the people and the boats come and go. You can plan a day on the beach or plan to do some water sports. The Kazarma, which is a fortress, is a great place to look down and see all of the area. They have readings, events, theatre and concerts in July and August during the festival of the arts. You are always in a relaxed environment anywhere you go in the city.
Plan a tour to the caves. You will have the opportunity to see the Oxo Lastsidi, Megalo Katofygi and Peristera caves as well as the longest cave in the area, the Pelekita caves. The caves are something that the entire family will find fascinating. You plan a couple of day visiting the museums and the incredible gardens. You have never seen so many different plants and trees. You will find Sitia a very exciting place to visit even though it is a working community.
You can plan some day trips to some of the area villages. Do visit Zakros, Aglos Stefanos and Achlada. These villages are great for seeing the culture of other areas other than Sitia. After some land attractions, you might want to try your luck with windsurfing. Kouremenos Bay is where you will find some of the most exciting winds for surfing. You will the time of your life experiencing the water from on top a wind board. If you are looking for a great beach, you will enjoy Vai beach. The palm trees are amazing to see.
You will find that your holiday to Crete are filled with fun and excitement, but you will not want to miss the nightlife. The nights are warm and the cafés and clubs have some seating outside for visitors to enjoy the warm night air. You will have a great time in Sitia and the entire family will find something to do. You will enjoy the cuisine as well and many restaurants do have children’s menus for families. Take you time and spend a couple of weeks in Sitia for many unforgettable memories.
