Dublin - A Taste Of The Irish

When you plan your holiday to Dublin you are going to be in for a real treat. There are lakes, beaches, fishing, bird watching, boating, beautiful gardens and even pony trekking. In Dublin, there is even a championship golf course for those who want to play a couple rounds of golf. The charm of the city is seen everywhere you go. It does not matter if you go to the restaurants, shops or pubs you are going to see the old Irish charm. There is so much to do in Dublin that you will want to spend at least a week or two visiting.
Bull Island has the highest amount of birds, beautiful beaches, the sand dunes and freshwater and salt marshes. This is a great place to spend an entire day. The vegetation is undisturbed and the creatures that live on the island come out to see you time to time. The Custom House is a beautiful place to see. It has the beautiful dome top, columns, arcades and pavilions. You can also visit Phoenix Park, which is just acres and acres of land with the Dublin zoo on the grounds as well as the US ambassador, and Irish President. The visitor's center, which is across the street from Ashtown Castle, has many visuals and exhibits that present the parks history
Do set time off to visit the Temple Park where you will see artists that create their works right in front you. They set up shop all over the area. Around this area, you will find shops, theaters, cafés and the art galleries. Then it is on to St. Patrick's Cathedral. The architecture of the Cathedral is just amazing. You can sit for hours and just glaze at the craftsmanship that went into making this Cathedral. The peal bells in the medieval tower are the largest in all of Ireland.
Your holiday is not going to be complete until you see the Dublin Castle. The Castle has State Department a Record Tower and the Chapel Royal. This is said to be the oldest building in Ireland dating back to the early 1700's. If you would like to see some Oriental art, you can visit the Chester Beatty Library. They have manuscripts to date back to the second and fourth centuries. This is a great place to take the kids because they can learn so much and enjoy it.
